HANS ONG

      Hans completed his Diploma of Music (majoring in classical guitar) in 2010, and completed his Bachelor of Music Performance (majoring in viola) at the University of Melbourne in 2015. In the past 18 years, Hans has been performing in various competitions and master classes, such as, Berta Rojas (Paraguay), Flavio Gucchi (Italy), Matthew McAlister (Scotland), and Xue Fei Yang (China).

     In 2012, Hans was awarded as one of the highest scorers for his Grade 8 Viola exam in the ABRSM examination board in Malaysia. Other than his Viola exam, Hans also holds the qualifications of ABRSM Grade 8 Classical Guitar, and Trinity Guildhall Grade 8 Classical Guitar. In 2015, Hans received the CD Hume Violin Scholarship, and Corinna D’Hage Mayer String Scholarship. He is an active member of Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra as a violist since the year of 2017 to present.

      Having taught students for the past 16 years in multiple instruments (i.e. violin, viola, guitar, and ukulele), Hans brings a new dimension in his teaching method that students could apply in all instruments. He is passionate to teach both children and adults, having taught all ages from beginners to advanced.
